Last Friday, First Lady Suzanne Youngkin led an impactful forum in Goochland County addressing the fentanyl epidemic, joined by Jill Cichowicz, founder of 2 End The Stigma. The discussion highlighted the devastating toll of fentanyl, which took Cichowicz’s twin brother, Scott, after a prescription opioid dependency turned deadly. This personal loss inspired Cichowiczto launch 2 End The Stigma and the Scott Zebrowski Scholarship Fund, providing critical support for those struggling with addiction.
Youngkin’s Operation FREE Virginia, launched last year, aligns with Cichowicz’s mission, employing digital campaigns and targeted education programs across the state. Virginia has seen fentanyl-related deaths rise twentyfold since 2013, making this a pressing crisis that demands unified action.
