A Day of Inspiration and Community
What an honor it was for 2ETS Founder and CEO, Jill Cichowicz, to be invited to speak about our community partnership with Chesterfield Recovery Academy during Virginia First Lady Suzanne Youngkin’s special visit to the school.
The event brought together many notable guests, including Delegate Carrie Coyner, Chesterfield County Superintendent Dr. John Murray, Chesterfield County school officials, a program graduate, and a parent of a recent graduate. Each presence highlighted how vital community collaboration is to support young people in recovery.
Sharing Our Mission & Celebrating Recovery
Jill’s opportunity to talk about 2 End The Stigma’s mission and partnership with the Academy was truly amazing. The conversations, stories, and shared goals reminded everyone in attendance that recovery is possible—and recovery is beautiful.
We also enjoyed time catching up with students and hearing about their snack preferences for Scott’s Corner 🫶. These small moments of connection emphasize how essential it is to meet students where they are, providing care and understanding that nurtures their ongoing journey.
Honoring the Meaning Behind Scott’s Corner
One of the most touching highlights of the day was introducing the First Lady to Scott’s Corner and explaining the heartfelt meaning behind the beautiful mural created by liamweis.art. Scott’s Corner is more than a snack station—it’s a space of remembrance and encouragement, symbolizing that no life is ever forgotten.
Gratitude to Our Partners
This special day would not have been possible without the dedication of so many. Special thanks to 2ETS Board Member and Advocate Eric Morris Jr. for your unwavering commitment to our mission, and to Justin Savoy, MBA, M.Ed, MS for being a bright light in this work.
Together, we are so much better when we come together. From local leaders to families and advocates, everyone plays a role in ensuring that every young person knows that hope, healing, and recovery are within reach.
Moving Forward with Purpose
The visit from First Lady Suzanne Youngkin and the heartfelt exchanges with students reinforced our core belief: Recovery is possible. Recovery is beautiful.
At 2 End The Stigma, we remain committed to standing with young people and their families, working side by side with our community to end the stigma around substance use disorder. 💜💜
